WP BackItUp Version 1.9 Released
We have been hard at work on WP BackItUp version 1.9 for months now and today we are thrilled to announce that it is finally available. This update can be downloaded from WordPress.org or from within your WordPress Plugins page.
What’s new in version 1.9?
Automated backups have been one of the most frequently requested features this year so we are very proud to announce that they are finally available. Version 1.9 allows you to schedule your backup for any day of the week. Pick Friday, Saturday or every day of the week if you like, and WP BackItUp will make sure your site is backed up. And if you have email notifications turned on then we’ll even send you an email letting you know that your backup was run.
WP BackItUp version 1.9 also contains many user experience and performance improvements. We know these aren’t as exciting as automated backups but here are just a few of the other improvements that are included in this release.
- Automated cleanup
- Logging enhancements
- Prevent multiple concurrent backups
- Support for Windows MySql database exports
WP BackItUp will perform automated work and log file cleanup.
WP BackItUp logging has been improved to provide more detailed logging to help with troubleshooting.
WP BackItUp will make sure that only one backup is ever running at a time.
WP BackItUp always supported Windows hosts but did not take advantage of some of the MySql export tools like it does on other platforms. Now Windows hosts are fully supported.
Having issues after upgrading?
We have tested version 1.9 extensively and have even been running it on our own sites for several weeks now, but as with all software, there could be some unexpected issues that occur in certain environments. If you experience any issues at all, let us know, and we will do our best to assist you. Support requests may be submitted via the support form on www.wpbackitup.com.
